Allen finishes 9th, team 7th at Disc Golf Rocket Launch Open

DEXTER, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College disc golf performed well at the Rocket Laucnh Open, hosted by the University of Toledo. Eight players from GLCC participated, both on their own in the singles event and in two teams for the team doubles event.

Micaiah Allen led GLCC, tying for ninth in the 47-player singles field, scoring 59 (five above par). Michael Wetzel, Galen Patchett and Colton Harris all tied for 36th with 69 (+15), Thomas McLane finished 39th with 72 (+18). Noah Rohrer, Elijah Long and Noah Lilley scored 78 (+24), 81 (+27) and 92 (+38), respectively.

Central Michigan's Luke Predum and Toledo's Robert Belair tied for first with scores of 52 (-2).

In the team competition, Allen, McLane, Patchett and Wetzel teamed up for a 7th-place finish among the 12 teams, scoring 147 (+19) overall. Harris, Lilley, Long and Rohrer made up the second team and finished 12th, scoring 175 (+47). Bowling Green and Ferris State tied for first in the event with scores of 130 (+2).

Head coach Sam Long said "our teams competed well... This ended up being an all around good day that showed a lot of promise for the rest of the year."
