PIKEVILLE, Kent- The Crusaders played their second game in as many days in the University of Pikeville Walters Auto Classic Wednesday afternoon. GLCC took on Washington Adventist Shock (NAIA II). Early in the game it was back and forth affair but the Shock controlled the lead for much of the first half. The Crusaders would try to get momentum going but could not get over the hump in the first half. The Crusaders shot a mere 35% in the first half but was also able to hold the Shock to 36% shooting in the first half. The difference in the game early was the Shock's presence on the offensive glass and second chance points. WAU led the Crusaders at the break 39-33.
In the second half it continued to be back and forth game, but it was much of the same, GLCC could never get over the hump. WAU did a good job keeping the Crusaders at bay with hitting timely shots, and forcing the Crusaders into uncharacteric turnovers. The Crusaders had a season high 23 turnovers, and the Shock man handled the Crusaders on the glass with 17 offensive rebounds. The Crusaders were led by JaQuin Jones 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Isiah Reed also secured another double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

- The WAU bench outscored the GLCC bench 18-3
- The Shock won the rebounding battle 53-35
- The Shock went 14/18 from the FT line compared to the Crusaders 5/11
- The Crusaders close the first semester 8-6 with 6-0 record against NCCAA teams
What Coach Says:
"Today we right there, but we did not do the little things to win the game. Credit to WAU, Coach Pat does a great job with his squad and they were tougher than us today especially inside. We have to do a better job finishing possessions and rebounding the basketball. We got the first shot misses we wanted. We were also entirely too casual with the basketball, 23 turnovers is not good at all. We definitely were missing Lance Adams this trip, but we need some guys to step up while he is out. It is opportunity for our guys off the bench to step up." Thoughts on first semester, "Overall I am very proud of these guys, we have really changed the culture of GLCC basketball, but we still have more work to do. We have a lot more to accomplish this season. I am excited for these guys to get a break and get time with their families. I am looking forward though to the second semester and seeing how our team continues to grow. Jahmal Eggleston and Kais McCook will be welcomed additions to the lineup second semester."

Men's Basketball is off until December 30th when they take on Marian University (IN) at 5:00pm for the Crusaders last exhibition of the season.
