Men's Basketball Set Program Record for Wins on the Road

MANITOWOC, Wisc- Men's Basketball was on the road for the sixth straight game, and the fourth time in seven days. The Crusaders went into the game against Silver Lake College Lakers, looking for their third straight and program record 15th win of the season. GLCC started the game fast going up on the Lakers 14-0 before the home team got on the board. The Crusaders high pressure defense led to easy opportunities for them, and suffocated the Laker offense. The Crusaders were able to build their lead to as much as 14 in the first half before the Lakers answered with a run of their own to cut the Crusader lead to three. The Crusaders closed the half up 44-37.

In the second half the Crusaders were plagued by foul trouble early, but were able to overcome it to go up 19 with just over 12 minutes to play. The Lakers continued to battle though and were able to make it interesting for the Crusaders cutting GLCC lead to 6 with just over five minutes to play. GLCC was without Basit Seidu the last eight minutes of the game due to fouling out, but Quincy Green stepped up in a huge way playing his best game of the season. Isiah Reed led the Crusader attack with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. The Crusaders put five players in double figures in the 97-91 win. What Coach Says:

"I am really proud of this group, we won on the road in a very tough environment. We controlled the game start to finish. Obviously getting the most wins in a season in program history is great. I am really proud of this group. I knew they'd be special. We still have our focus on more though. We have to really clean some things up. We got up big multiples times in this game, and did not do a good job of closing them out with our lead. This has been a brutal stretch with 4 road games and over 30 hours on the road. It will be good to get some rest and have the opportunity to come back and play in front of our home crowd again." On Quincy Green, "Losing Basit really hurt, but Quincy stepped up in a big way tonight. He played his best game of his college career. He battled inside and was rebounding the ball every play. I know box score only has him down for 8 but it felt like 14 honestly. When we get Q to play like he did tonight we are a whole different team."
