LANSING, Mich.- The Great Lakes Christian College Men's Basketball team was back in action Saturday afternoon against #4 William Penn University (NAIA I). The Statesmen and Crusaders were in for a barn burner as the Statesmen are consistently one of the top scoring teams in the country regardless of levels. In the first half the Crusaders would compete well and have answers for WPU potent offensive attack. The Statesmen would hit a layup as time expired in the first half to push their lead to 8 points. In the second half the Statesmen would start fast and push their lead to 17 before the Crusaders battled back and found their footing. The Crusaders found success turning the Statesmen over 27 times which led to 25 points off turnovers for the Crusaders. The Statesmen dominated GLCC on the glass, snagging 15 offensive rebounds for 20 second chance points. The Crusaders were able to cut the lead to 11 with 5 minutes to go before the white and blue ran out of gas. The Crusaders would ultimately fell 112-94.

- The Crusaders put four in double figures led by Isiah Reed's 24 points.
- GLCC went 13/34 from three compared to WPU 8/24
- GLCC only turned it over 12 times compared to 27 for the Statesmen
- WPU shared the ball for 30 assists on 45 field goals compared to the Crusaders 19 assists on 35 field goals.
What Coach Says:
"I was really proud of our effort tonight. William Penn is one of the best teams in the country period. We knew we had to be sharp today, and we would have our hands full. We had to be sharp in our transition defense, and everytime we had a break down they made us pay. We have to tighten some things up with our transition defense. I have a lot of respect for Coach Henry and how they do things at William Penn." What is biggest improvement that needs to happen, "We need to rebound the basketball. We are not going to win a lot of games rebounding the way we have been. We have to finish possessions a lot better than we have been. I am looking forward to the week of practice as we prepare for Boyce."
