Men's Soccer Makes Progress in Loss at Andrews

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College men's soccer reached their first milestone on Friday, grabbing their first goal since the program re-launched in a 10-1 loss at Andrews.

The Cardinals took control of the match early, scoring five goals in the first half on their way to a commanding halftime lead.

In the 56th minute, Zach Johnson buried a free kick in the back of the net from 25 yards out, netting the visitors their first goal of the season. Andrews would score five more in the second half en route to a 10-1 win.

Andrews put 19 of their 34 shots on frame, while both of GLCC's attempts were on target.

"It was a better game," head coach Ian Kurth said after the match. However, he indicated that his team were still unhappy about the result "because it could have been a much closer game."
