Men's Soccer Can't Hold On vs. Welch

LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College men's soccer (1-12, 0-5) could not hold their 1-0 halftime lead against regional foe Welch, dropping a 4-1 result on Friday night.

Zack Johnson drove a laser into the back of the net in the fourth minute to put Great Lakes up 1-0, and the defense held out and took that lead to the break.

In the second half, however, the wheels came off. Jake Gates scored the equalizer in the 55th and Jared Folines put the Flames ahead five minutes later. Forlines scored again in the 63rd and a screaming header in the 86th from Joseph Cooper made the final score 4-1.

Welch outshot Great Lakes 23-4 in the game, putting 13 on frame. GLCC had two shots on target.
