Men's Soccer Releases 2023 Recruiting Class

LANSING, Mich.

 

Great Lakes Christian College Men's Soccer announces 16 new players to the program. 

 

Head coach Marcus Charlick on the incoming class, "This is the largest recruiting class in the program's history while arguably being the most talented as well. They will impact this program immensely and help propel us to a very successful fall season." 

 

Here is a look at the players: 

 

Reece Perpich

Reece is a strong center back coming from Waverly High School and Nationals Soccer Club. He received All-District, All-Conference, Team MVP, and All-Academic honors his senior year at Waverly. 

 

Ivan Garcia

Ivan is a crafty midfielder from Lansing Eastern and Lansing Rush. He will have a big impact in the Crusader midfield straight away.

 

Ryan Conaster

Hailing from Tennessee, Ryan is a versatile defender able to play anywhere across the back line. He received team MVP and 1st Team All-District honors his senior year at Jamestown High School.

 

Eric Cooper 

Eric comes in off a stellar senior year from Lansing Everett High School scoring 19 times and having 4 assists. His pace and drive will cause defenders issues this fall.

 

Sebastian Majer

Sebastian is a powerful defender from Milan High School. His strength in the back line will help prevent goals and cause issues for forwards. 

 

Aimable Kazungu 

Aimable brings his skills from East Kentwood High School and Michigan Futbol Academy. His defensive prowess will help bring stability and depth to the Crusader defense.

 

Sergio Gailana

A naturally left-footed forward, Sergio will cause issues for teams this fall. His 20 goals this past fall for Imlay City High School earned him All-Conference, All-District, and All-State honors. He will be playing in the first MIHSCCA all star game this summer in Lansing. 

 

Bryce Heisler

Bryce comes from Olivet High School and will greatly help with depth in the Crusader midfield. He earned All-Conference and All-District honors his senior year.

 

Rondaine Lewis

Perhaps the most versatile player coming into the team. Rondaine comes in as a junior transfer from John Wood Community College in Illinois. He has the ability to impact in the midfield and defense. 

 

Daniel Resendiz-Nuñez

Daniel has the potential to dominate the NCCAA with his attacking ability. His senior year he earned 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team All-State, Dream Team of Leelanau Enterprise, MVP of Dream Team, Northwest Conference team, and received an invitation to  the first MIHSCCA all star game this summer in Lansing. 

 

Matthew Whitton

Matthew comes from Jackson Lumen Christi High School and DBSS providing depth in the goalkeeper position. He received 1st Team All-District and All-Conference awards while also leaving Lumen Christi holding multiple program save records. 

 

Hector Jimenez 

Hector is a dynamic forward from Delton Kellogg High School who will cause opposing defenses plenty of issues. His senior year he received All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region honors. 

 

Kaleb Lloyd

Kaleb is a skillful and dominant presence in the midfield. Coming from Boyne City High School and the Petoskey Lakers, he earned All-Conference, All-Area, and Dream Team 1st Team his senior year.

 

Tucker Brown

Tucker comes in as an intimidating presence in the goal from Glen Lake High School. He received 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-Conference honors while also being Elite State Cup runners-up with Tbays North Storm. 

 

Devon Reyes

Devon comes into the program with the ability to make a big impact in both the midfield and forward lines. His senior year at Ionia High School ended with awards in 1st Team All Conference, 1st Team All District, All-Academic Team, and Team MVP.

 

Justin Fourn

Justin comes to the Crusaders as a transfer after spending one year at Spring Arbor University. As a senior at Pennfield High School he was All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and Playmaker Award Recipient while also finishing as a state cup finalist for his club.
