Women's Basketball Loses Opener To Siena Heights

LANSING, Mich. — Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball (0-1, 0-0) opened its season at the Doty Center on Monday night with a 78-44 loss to NAIA II Siena Heights University (2-0, 1-0).

Siena Heights took control of the game from the opening tip, building a 25-8 advantage by the end of the first quarter and leading 37-8 midway through the second. Great Lakes fought back with a 9-2 run to cut into the deficit late the second half, but went to halftime down 43-18.

GLCC came out strong in the second half, scoring the first six points of the third quarter and a game-high 17 points in the frame. The Saints built on their lead as the second half wore on, but Great Lakes fought with them down the stretch, only being outscored 35-26 in the second half as Seina Heights closed out a 78-44 win.
