SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball (0-2, 0-0) had a rough time in their first road game of the season on Wednesday morning, losing to NAIA II #21 Lawrence Tech University (4-1, 0-1) 111-32 in an exhibition match in front of a large crowd of elementary students at Lawrence Tech's Community Schools Day.

LTU got off to a flying start, scoring the first 16 points of the game and taking a commanding 32-7 lead to the second quarter. The second quarter played out similarly and the hosts held a 59-13 lead going into halftime.

Lawrence Tech kept its foot on the gas as the third quarter got underway, continuing to build their lead as the second half wore on. Great Lakes started to put something together in the fourth, only being outscored 17-13 by the Blue Devils in the quarter, but by then Lawrence Tech had put the game away and they finished with a convincing 111-32 win.

Inside the Box Score:

• Five Blue Devils scored in double digits, led by Alex Ruster's 20-point performance off the bench.
• Kerlunda Dervil led Great Lakes in scoring for the second game in a row with 13 points and Mystic Striker scored 11 to go with a team-high nine rebounds.
• Great Lakes had opportunities to score, taking 73 shots and grabbing 15 offensive rebounds, but struggled to get points from them, shooting only 17.8% in the game.
• GLCC reduced its turnovers to 14 on Wednesday from 27 on Monday, but still struggled on the glass, losing the rebounding battle 63-36.
• The team's depth was challenged again on Wednesday as well, as both Azhure Shotwell and Oghenehoke Johnson picked up four fouls and Jillian Wilson and Dervil were both whistled for three.

Head coach Lynell McCrary: "Tough game today, we picked up our efforts in the fourth quarter. Buckets were not falling for us today. The ladies continue to work hard. Working on our zone presence on the baseline and rebounding."
