Women's Basketball Loses on Road at Andrews

BERRIAN SPRINGS, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball (0-11) lost their second game of the season to USCAA Andrews University, this one on the road on Thursday night, 79-45.

Great Lakes scored first and kept the game close through the first quarter, but Andrews ended the half on a 17-2 run to take a 40-21 lead to halftime.

The visitors held serve in the third but couldn't close the gap and the Cardinals salted the game away in the final minutes, picking up a 79-45 win.

  • Mystic Striker had another double-double for Great Lakes, picking up 13 points and 16 rebounds.
  • Alison Walean came off the bench to lead all scorers with 26 points for the Cardinals.
  • Oghonehoke Johnson led GLCC with 18 points.
  • The three-point arc was the largest difference between the two teams, with Great Lakes hitting 1/11 (9.1%) and Andrews making 13/31 (41/9%) from downtown.
