Women's Basketball Loses on Road at Lawrence Tech

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball team (0-12) struggled on the road on Friday, losing 98-39 to NAIA II Lawrence Tech (12-4).

Lawrence Tech immediately jumped out to a big lead, cruising to a 27-7 advantage in the first quarter. Great Lakes struggled to get its offense going in the second quarter as well and the Blue Devils continued to build its lead, going into halftime ahead 50-14.

The visitors finally got some offense going in the third quarter, but the Blue Devils continued to score, hanging a game-high 30 points on Great Lakes in the third before wrapping up a 98-39 win.

  • Kaitlyn Smith led all scorers with 20 points for LTU.
  • Oghenehoke Johnson led Great lakes with 15 points.
  • LTU out-rebounded GLCC 61-26.
  • Great Lakes shot 15/67 (22.4%) from the floor, LTU shot 39/75 (52%).
