Women's Basketball Falls on Road at Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball (0-12) still seeks its first win after dropping a 79-30 result on the road at NAIA Concordia (Michigan) on Saturday.

The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead, but the game was close in the first quarter, Great Lakes trailing 18-15 after the first 10 minutes. A low-scoring second quarter kept the score within single digits, Concordia taking a 29-20 lead to the break.

The Cardinals got off to a fast start in the second half, however, scoring the first 14 points in the third quarter to take a commanding lead. During the second half, Concordia out-scored the visitors 50-10. Great Lakes only matched its first-quarter scoring output in the final 30 minutes of play and Concordia rolled to a 79-30 win.

  • No player for either team scored in double-digits, although Mystic Striker nearly had a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
  • Three Cardinals, Rachel Perry, Sam McDaniel and Stephanie Abraham, scored nine points apiece.
  • Great Lakes shot 20.3% (13/64) from the floor. Concordia shot 40.5% (30/74).
