Cold Second Half Sinks Women's Basketball vs. Lourdes

LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes women's basketball (0-14) still seeks its first win of the season after taking an 84-39 defeat from visiting NAIA Lourdes on Monday.

Once again, Great Lakes was in it early, knocking down its first four shots from the field and taking an 8-3 lead. Lourdes responded with a 12-0 run and never rescinded the lead.

The lead was 18-14 for the Grey Wolves after the first quarter and they increased it to 41-28 by halftime.

As has been the case for much of the season, Great Lakes came out of the locker room flat, giving up the first 10 points of the half to Lourdes. The hosts mustered only 11 points in the second half while giving up 43 and the visiting Grey Wolves cruised to an 84-39 win.

  • Oghenehoke Johnson led all scorers with 18 points.
  • Five Grey Wolves scored in double digits, four of whom came off the bench.
  • Lourdes out-rebounded Great Lakes 57-25.
