Women's Basketball Drops Exhibition At Taylor

UPLAND, Ind. - Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball faced Taylor University in an exhibition on Thursday, losing 98-50.

Taylor jumped out to a quick lead and led 23-7 at the end of the first. The Trojans continued to roll in the second, scoring 38 points on their way to a 61-21 halftime lead.

Great Lakes stemmed the tide somewhat in the second half, but Taylor held their large lead, rolling to a 98-50 win.

Kerlanda Dervil led Great Lakes' three double-digit scorers with 16 points. Mystic Striker scored 12 and Randi Fitzgerald scored 10.

Tilly Guild and Azhure Shotwell, who are both nursing injuries, played limited minutes.

Six Trojans scored in double digits. Madisyn Fischer led with 13, and Merideth Deckard scored 12 while grabbing 10 rebounds.

Up Next: Great Lakes will host Finlandia at 2:00 on Saturday at the Doty Center.
