Women's Basketball picks up win against Calvary University

In the Crusaders second NCCAA National Tournament match-up, the team secured a victory against #7 Calvary University with a final score of 63-56.

Leah Yanko led the team with 18 points. She highlighted her sharpshooting skills by sinking 6 three-pointers. Notably, her performance included a crucial three-pointer with only 47 seconds remaining, propelling the Crusaders to a 59-56 lead. The team's strong defensive effort in the final moments prevented Calvary from scoring again, sealing the victory. The resilience and teamwork displayed by the Crusaders were key factors in securing this important win in the National Tournament. This marked the first National Tournament win in program history.

Mykenzie Kent recorded another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. She also led the team with 4 assists.

Makensie Mondy added 13 points and 8 rebounds.

Devan Buda collected 11 points.

Randi Fitzgerald added 8 points and brought down 8 rebounds.

Allie Ferrall played a crucial role in containing Calvary’s offense, adding a rebound and an assist.

The Crusaders will now face the defending National Champions, #1 ranked Champion Christian for fifth place.
