Women's Soccer earns first-ever win in home blowout

LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer is celebrating its first-ever win after dispatching visiting Lincoln College (Illinois) 6-0 at home on Friday.

Great Lakes dictated the play from whistle to whistle, starting in the opening minutes. April Gillespie opened the scoring for Great Lakes, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute. Morgan Chamberlain added to the lead in the 26th, making it 2-0 at halftime.

Great Lakes continued to roll in the second half, with Emily Rector and Hailey Conine each scoring a pair of second-half goals as GLCC rolled to a 6-0 win.

Katarzyna Polek grabbed a pair of saves for GLCC and earned the clean sheet. Great Lakes put 13 of their 19 shots on frame.

GLCC will next face St. Clear County Community College on Wednesday in Port Huron at 5:00 p.m.
