Women's Soccer Wins 3 Straight

The Crusaders scored a late goal to knock off the Defiance Yellow Jackets 1-0 in women's soccer action on Wednesday. This win moves the Crusaders to 4-3 on the season.
 
Great Lakes dominated the first half by outshooting the Yellow Jackets 14-0. The Crusaders fired off the first shot of the contest 45 seconds in when Brianna Vinton sent one wide left. The best opportunity in the half came 20 minutes in on a free kick. The Yellow Jackets committed a foul which resulted in a free kick for Brianna Vinton, who from about 30 yards out, sent the ball just high over the goal. The two teams went to halftime tied at zero.
 
The Crusaders were able to break through and end the scoreless tie in the 87th minute. The Yellow Jackets were unable to control the ball near midfield and the Crusaders stole it via Chelsea Waller who passed it ahead to Allie Ferrall. Ferrall took on two Defiance defenders and just slipped it past the GK into the bottom corner for the game-winning goal with just over three minutes remaining. 
 
St Marys College, in Notre Dame, Indiana, are up next for the Lady Crusaders on Friday 9/22 with a 6:30pm kickoff.
