Men's Basketball Has First Clinic on Campus

The Men's Basketball team ran Great Lakes Christian College first basketball clinic on campus September 8th. The clinic had 16 participants ages 8-17 for both boys and girls. The student-athletes on the team ran fundamental teaching stations where the campers learned about: shooting, passing, pivoting, 1 on 1 moves, 1 on 1 defense, team defense, rebounding, cutting, and agility.

Isiah Reed said this about the experience, "It was a good experience to coach instead on playing. It was unique challenge to teach the skills in our station work. It was definitely a learning experience for me and all the guys. I was appreciative of the kids being very receptive to what we were teaching. I'm looking forward to doing this again sometime soon."

Coach Westerlund said, "I thought this was a special day on our campus. It was great to watch our student-athletes interact with the campers. I think both the campers and our guys both had a lot of fun on the day. It is our goal that we can continue to grow these camps and clinics for our community. We want to offer affordable and quality basketball camps that our community can be proud of and want to be a part of. Today was the first step in that process. The feedback we've received from our campers and parents has been amazing."
