Senior Spotlight: Elijah Kess, Men's Basketball

LANSING, Mich. - Senior Elijah Kess was a key part of Great Lakes Christian College men's basketball's proficient offense in 2019-20 in his only season in the program.

A transfer from Washington Adventist, Kess immediately earned significant playing time with his outside shooting. He ranked second on the team in three-pointers made and three-point shooting percentage, averaging 13.7 points per game, also good for second on the team. He scored a season-high 35 points in Great Lakes' win over then top-ranked Grace Christian at Little Caesars Arena. He was named honorable mention All-Mideast Region and is a business major.

What did you learn from your time at GLCC?

What did I learn from GLCC is that meeting new friends and building new relationships with people is not bad.

What's your favorite GLCC athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is going to nationals with my team and playing at the Pistons' area.

What is a highlight of what you accomplished at GLCC?

My biggest accomplishment at GLCC was just getting closer to God and understanding life.

What's next on your journey?

My next journey is going pro, playing professional basketball and becoming a coach for the youth, maybe becoming law enforcement.
