Great Lakes faced off in an intense matchup vs Kuyper College on January, 28th. Kuyper was led by All-Region stand out Herman Brown and nationally acclaimed HC Gary Bailey. Last year the two teams split 1-1, winning on their respective floors. Leading for a well anticipated matchup tonight.

 

As expected, Herman Brown opened up with the first basket of the game providing a spark for the cougars. But it was not long until the Crusaders caught rhythm and allowed their crowd to create an atmosphere that would eventually be too electric to combat. Using this atmosphere, Senior Rasheed Dyson continued his run of dominant form. He opened up his scoring flood tonight with a 6-0 run on his own, all three of those being from fancy finishes around the rim.  Junior Devin Watts found his rhythm as well hitting 4 threes! By the time the second half came around, the Crusaders extended the lead out to twenty!

 

After their dominant performance, Head Coach Elijah Kess had this to say: “I’m proud of how everyone on the team stepped up today, we are great when our guys are hitting shots!” The Crusaders continue their season Saturday at Ohio Christian on 2/1.
