Kess joined the staff after completing his eligibility with the Crusaders. Kess is a graduate of GLCC in 2021. Kess surpassed 1000 points for his career and was key part to the Crusaders success in 19-20 including being ranked #1 for the first time in program history. Kess's responsibilities will include travel, player development, and student athlete mentoring.

Coach Westerlund had this to say about Elijah Kess, "I am thrilled to welcome back Elijah as a coach. Kess was a fierce competitor and dedicated student-athlete during his time here at GLCC. He brings a lot of value to our staff with his keen eye for talent, his ability to connect and relate with guys is very important. Kess has been in these guys shoes and can give them great perspective on how to be successful at this level and in our program. I believe he has a bright future on the sidelines."
