Poor Shooting Dooms Women's Basketball vs. Trinity International

LANSING, Mich. - Trinity International gave Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball no chance in their rubber match at the Doty Center on Saturday, soundly defeating their hosts 88-35.

The visiting Trojans jumped out to a 17-4 lead and took a 29-8 advantage to the second quarter. TIU continued to roll in the second, leading 48-12 at halftime.

Great Lakes' offense picked up some in the second half, but the Trojans continued to pour it on, rolling to an 88-35 win.

Randi Fitzgerald picked up a double-double in her first career start with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Mystic Striker led Great Lakes with 15 points.

Four Trojans scored in double-digits, led by Kassandra Ybarra's 15 points.

GLCC shot 16/63 (25.4%) from the floor and 2/14 (14.3%) from beyond the arc. TIU shot 35/70 (50%) and 8/20 (40%).

Up Next: The team will face Glen Oaks Community College on Wednesday at 6:00 at the Doty Center.
