Casey Conine scores all four as Women's Soccer beats Maranatha

 

LANSING, Mich.Casey Conine came off the bench to score all four of Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer's 4-0 win over Maranatha on Friday.

Great Lakes dominated possession for most of the first half, but did not develop many chances. Conine entered the game off the bench in the 36th minute and five minutes later scored twice in one minute to give GLCC a 2-0 halftime lead.

The second half followed a similar script: Conine entered the game in the 64th minute and provided the finishing power GLCC needed, scoring two more goals in three minutes to push the lead to 4-0, a lead Great Lakes would hold through the final whistle.

GLCC outshot Maranatha 16-5, putting 10 shots on frame to MBU's three. Katarzyna Polek and Rachel Weinclaw split the clean sheet for Great Lakes in goal while Laura Brown made six saves for Maranatha.

Abbie Numerick picked up a late yellow card while Solara Sheldon, Elena Alvarado and Ashley Owens all picked up assists.
