Women's Soccer routs Mount Mary at home

LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer soundly defeated Mount Mary in a Sunday clash, 8-0.

GLCC took the lead nearly immediately off a Randi Fitzgerald goal in the first minute, a lead she would double 16 minutes later. Casey Conine, last week's national NCCAA DII player of the week, added another to give the hosts a 3-0 halftime lead.

The second half progressed much the same, especially once an injury left Mount Mary with only 10 players. Morgan Chamberlain scored two goals, incuding one on a penalty, Emily Rector also scored two and Conine grabbed a second for herself en route to a straightforward 8-0 win.

Great Lakes took 33 shots, while Mount Mary did not register any. Bri Brown made 13 saves for the visitors.

Rector received a yellow card during the match for Great Lakes, as did Cate Mitchell and Micaela Gonzalez for Mount Mary.

GLCC will return to action on Wednesday for their final home game of the season against Campbellsville Harrodsburg.
