Women's Soccer win streak ends with home loss to Harrodsburg

LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer's five-game winning streak came to an end on Wednesday in a 3-2 to Campbellsville Harrodsburg in the last home game of the season.

Ashley Owens scored the opener in the 22nd minute off an assist from Abbie Numerick, giving Great Lakes a 1-0 lead they would hold into halftime.

Harrodsburg immediately opened the second half with an equalizer, Katelyn Turner burying a strike under the bar in the 47th minute. GLCC took the lead once again 12 minutes later when Elena Alvarado scored her penalty, but CUH tied the game once again with another Turner goal in the 72nd.

Both teams had opportunities to pull ahead late, but Harrodsburg was the only one to take advantage, Turner pouncing on a pass in the back and turning the takeaway into the winning goal for the visitors in the 83rd minute.

The two teams both took 11 shots, Harrodsburg putting eight on frame to GLCC's six.

Great Lakes will return to action on Saturday at Maranatha Baptist.
