Women's Volleyball Ends Season

Women's Volleyball Ends Season

LANSING, Mich.

Great Lakes Christian College has made the difficult decision to end the 2023 Women's Volleyball season. The decision has been made due to injuries and an insufficient final roster number.

"Although I am sad we are not competing this fall, we are going to use the time to benefit the program," said Coach Melvin Balogh. "Being able to focus on lifting the program by putting a high level of energy and time into recruiting will allow us to build a foundation for success in the future."

A lot of time, effort and resources will be shifted into making 2024 a fantastic season for women's volleyball at Great Lakes. It gives a great opportunity for those in the class of 2024 to come in to GLCC and join the restart of the program.

"After having conversations and meetings with the coaches and returning players, they have shown great spirit, optimism, and a huge amount of excitement for the future," said Director of Athletics Sam Sibilski. "We really want to keep them engaged this year as they will be the heart and soul of a resurgent program that will have a lot of incoming freshman in 2024."
